Yoga for children
Flowmingo Yoga Logo

We learn to move and move to learn as a child; flowing through stages like a river - continually changing speed and direction, as we follow our path through the landscape of childhood.

I have spent a long time creating Flow-Mingo - creating healthy, happy....bodies and minds.

A whole body and mindfulness development programme, that follows the life stages of young people from birth, through to, and including the teenage years.

I have taken all the knowledge and skills I have gained over the past 15 years - working as a movement development specialist with thousands of children, parents, teachers, coaches, health professionals and students and combined it with my yoga, growth mindset and mindfulness training.

Activities are all age appropriate and take into account the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young people.  Flow-Mingo is currently a school based programme that offers a wide range of services to meet the needs of each school, supporting them in growing healthy, happy bodies and minds.

Including:

Yoga & mindfulness classes

8 week Mindfulness course for students or staff

Lesson plans for Mindfulness

Lesson plans for Active Play Education

Training workshops for staff to allow integration of Active Play, Yoga or Mindfulness into the classroom

Workplace Health & Wellness service for staff

Healthy Eating workshops

Mindfulness workshops for exam preparation

Self esteem and positive body image workshops

Empowering and transformation Yoga/HIIT fusion classes for teenagers

If your school would benefit from decreased behaviour management issues, support to create a healthier environment, after school or in class sessions or training for your teachers to deliver the program themselves, get in contact for a no obligation consultation.

Active Play Education

Movement is essential for life..... to walk, to run, to PLAY.

Physical activity is fundamental to the healthy growth and development of children, including reducing the risk of obesity and risk factors for non-communicable disease.

Children predominantly achieve their physical activity through a range of Active Play which is intrinsically driven, freely chosen, imaginative and opportunistic with bursts of high intensity.  A far cry from the planned and structured exercise of adults.  Personal attributes that are developed through Active Play are a sense of mastery, physical, cognitive and social development, problem solving, creativity, social skills, concentration, organisation and integration of stressful experiences.

I offer a consultative service in the field of movement development, physical activity and health and provide professional development opportunities to early years educators, KS1 teachers, parents and health professionals looking to expand their knowledge on the health and developmental benefits of movement and play from birth through to 8 years of age.

Transform Learning with Our Perceptual Motor Program

Are you looking to enhance the learning experience in your school? Our innovative perceptual motor program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children, combining physical activity with cognitive development to improve academic performance. By integrating activities that focus on fine and gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and sensory processing, we help students develop crucial life skills that go beyond the classroom.

Why Choose Our Program?

Our program stands out because it’s tailored to address the unique challenges faced by students in today's educational environment. We use engaging, hands-on activities that not only promote physical fitness but also stimulate brain development. This dual focus helps in enhancing students' concentration, memory, and problem-solving abilities, making learning more effective and enjoyable. Our curriculum is developed by experts in child development and education, ensuring that each session is age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned.

Benefits for Schools and Students

Implementing our perceptual motor program in your school can lead to remarkable benefits:

  • Improved Academic Performance: By strengthening the link between physical activity and cognitive function, students can achieve better results in core subjects.

  • Enhanced Classroom Behavior: Physical activities lead to better self-regulation and social skills, reducing behavioral issues and increasing classroom harmony.

  • Holistic Development: Our program nurtures not just academic growth but also physical health, emotional well-being, and social interaction skills.

We understand that every school is unique, which is why we offer customizable sessions that can fit into your existing timetable without disrupting other educational activities. Mum & Child Yoga/Pilates

As a mum I know how hard it can be to find the time for ourselves to exercise!

I am a firm believer that being a positive role model for our children is one of the

greatest gifts we can give our loved ones. I want my children to grow up and be

health and happy adults, having the energy to do what they love in life.

Practicing yoga together is a great way to exercise with a combination of fun flows, partner yoga, strengthening and flexibility. Life with our little ones is about making memories to last a lifetime and to cherish the special bond and connection that is unique to each and every one of us as parents.  Watch in awe as your children learn all about their bodies and the amazing way that they can learn to move......and, move to learn.  See the spark ignite in them as they grow  their love of movement and yoga.

Fun, nurturing and age appropriate sessions from birth through to the teenage years, are individually tailored after an initial consultation and delivered in the comfort of your own home.

Practice at a time and location that is suitable for you and your family, or better yet get together with a few families and share the cost!

Please contact me for a no obligation chat to see if this is something that will benefit your family.
